The GRPS Foundation Adds Three Community Members to its Board of Directors
Alexis Reame, Javier Cervantes and Emily Cantor join GRPS Foundation Board

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – (Oct. 19, 2023) – The Grand Rapids Public Schools Foundation is excited to announce three new members to its Board of Directors. Alexis Reame, representing PNC Bank, Javier Cervantes from The Diatribe, and Emily Cantor from Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, have been appointed as the newest members of the Board. With these additions, the board now comprises 24 members.

The GRPS Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) organization, is the primary fundraising partner for the Grand Rapids Public School district. The Foundation’s mission is to gather community resources to enhance educational experiences and remove barriers, ensuring that every student learns, develops, and thrives.

Alexis Reame assumed the position of client and community relations director at PNC Bank in 2021, serving as the chief of staff for the Regional President’s Office in Grand Rapids. She also holds positions on the board of directors for the Cherry Health Foundation, the Grand Rapids Chamber’s Create Great Leaders Council, and the Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s Somos Comunidad Committee. Furthermore, she was appointed as an Intercollegiate Athletic Advisor at Grand Valley State University. Reame is a dedicated advocate for education and is deeply committed to the prosperity of our community, believing that the success of our district’s students is paramount. She has been a dedicated volunteer with the GRPS Foundation, serving as Chair of Great Girls, in addition to her roles at PNC and LMCU.

Javier Cervantes is the Culture & Strategy Champion at The Diatribe, having previously worked as the Communications Coordinator for the GRPS district. Cervantes is actively engaged in numerous community boards and committees and was recently honored as a Brilliant Leaders Fellow through the Steelcase Foundation. As a former GRPS alumnus and staff member, Cervantes has witnessed firsthand the efforts made by the Foundation to provide GRPS scholars with the tools and resources necessary for success.

Emily Cantor is a partner at Warner, Norcross and Judd, where she assists both publicly traded and privately held companies with a wide range of legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, contract development and review, corporate governance, and liquor license transactions and compliance. Cantor serves companies across various industries, including manufacturing, retail, and distribution. She believes that offering support and resources to children who might not have access to them otherwise is a powerful means of making a positive impact in the community.
