Planned Giving - Leave a Legacy

The Student Advancement Foundation makes an impact. Leave a legacy here in Grand Rapids.

Founded in 1871, the Grand Rapids Public Schools has been shaping education for the youth of our community for over 125 years.  As the City of Grand Rapids continues to grow and advance, so does our need and commitment to providing a superior school system to serve our city’s children.

By making a planned gift to the GRPS Foundation, you can help ensure the best education for all future generations of GRPS students.

While planned giving is a private affair, The Scholars Society is for donors who have informed us of gifts in their estate plans. It is our way of thanking those who are making choices today that benefit the future of our community.

MAKING A PLANNED GIFT

When you think about planned giving, you are answering the question:

How will my resources be used for good after I am gone?

Planned giving makes a forever impact on organizations that you love. They may take various forms, but most commonly are made through a bequest in a will or trust, an allocation from a retirement plan or a designation in a life insurance policy.

A planned gift may take various forms and is a wonderful way to support the Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation. Gifts should be designated to Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation, Grand Rapids, Michigan (tax id number 38-3137984)

Planned gifts can be set up in many different ways:

  • They can reduce estate taxes
  • They allow you to fulfill your philanthropic goals and create a giving legacy
  • You may be able to make a larger gift than you could during your lifetime with this option

The Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation can provide basic information about planned giving options. However, we cannot offer tax advice. You should always consult with a financial planner or tax attorney to understand the implications of a planned gift.
